I am a mom of 5 amazing kids. I have always loved Christmas and every year I feel like it gets more and more busy. When Christmas morning finally comes, I feel like I barely have had time to spend with my family in all the hustle and bustle leading up to the moment. A few years ago my husband and I came up with a plan on how to stop spending so much time and money on things and focus on the experiences we can have together. We started a 12 Days of Christmas celebration.

For our family, we start celebrating the 12 days starting the day after Christmas - which incidentally The 12 days of Christmas is the period in Christian theology that marks the span between the birth of Christ and the coming of the Magi, the three wise men. It begins on December 25 (Christmas) and runs through January 6 (the Epiphany, sometimes also called Three Kings’ Day). You can read more about the old tradition here
